Debabrata Patra is an Associate Faculty Member who works with Faculty Member Linda Sandell to recommend the scientific literature in their field.
Debabrata Patra also has responsibility for checking the contents of the following journals to ensure that the highest quality research, relevant to their own interests, within these publications is comprehensively and systematically evaluated for F1000:- Journal of Cell Biology
- Osteoarthritis and Cartilage
ACADEMIC POSITION:
Research Assistant Professor at Washington University School of Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Debabrata Patra works with Linda Sandell. Dr Sandells laboratory focuses on gene regulation of extracellular matrix proteins and its influence on the phenotype of cells. Of particular interest is the role of transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms of regulation of protein expression in the differentiation of mesenchymal cell phenotypes such as cartilage, bone, muscle and adipose. The Sandell laboratory has also had a long-standing interest in cellular mechanisms associated with chondrogenesis and endochondral bone formation and the discovery of new related extracellular matrix proteins and the interplay of positive and negative factors that regulate their expression.
