RESEARCH INTERESTS
Professor Hart has a very broad experience in cardiovascular medicine and physiology. He has recently acted as supervisor for MD and PhD fellows in studies of pacing for heart failure, PCI technology, intravascular ultrasound, the impact of type II diabetes on myocardial gene expression, and many other areas. His principal research activity at the present time concerns the effects of heart failure on gene expression in the cardiac conduction system and the myocardium, and is carried out in collaboration with Professor Mark Boyett (University of Manchester).
