FACULTY OF 1000:Following an invitation from Hershall Raff and Agnes Schonbrunn (Heads of the Endocrinology Section), Gina Yosten was appointed as a full Faculty Member for the Endocrinology Section on 2 November 2012.
Gina was an Associate Faculty Member who worked with Willis Samson to evaluate the literature relevant to their research interests. On 18th June 2012, Willis Samson was promoted to a Head of Faculty for the Diabetes & Endocrinology Faculty, and Gina Yosten moved to the Neuro-Endocrinology & Pituitary section in the Diabetes & Endocrinology Faculty.

What regulates our bodies?
In this video, Professor Samson tells us how his interests lie in how the hypothalamus controls blood pressure and endocrine function and of his colleague Dr Yosten’s own studies, which focus on G-protein coupled receptors and their role in cardiovascular physiology. Here, they tell us how this research has led them to the discovery of new hormones and their equivalent protein receptors [video uploaded 22 May 2013].
