Michaela Niessen is an Associate Faculty Member who works with Faculty Member Carien Niessen to recommend the scientific literature in their field.
EDUCATION:Michaela Niessen studied Biological Sciences at the University of Cologne and is currently working in the lab of Prof Carien Niessen.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
In her PhD project, she investigates how polarity processes control morphogenesis and homeostasis of the mammalian skin. Specifically, she is interested in the role of the Par-polarity proteins in the establishment/maintenance of skin polarity, on stem cell maintenance and on barrier formation.
