ACADEMIC POSITION:Josimari Melo DeSantana is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at the Federal University of Sergipe/UFS, Sergipe, Brazil.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr DeSantana works on both animal and human studies. Her current research interests are peripheral and central mechanisms of musculoskeletal widespread chronic pain, neurobiology of transcutaneous nervous stimulation (TENS) and interferential currents, management of acute and chronic pain, pain measurement, whilst also teaching 'neurology', 'pediatric neurodevelopment' and 'prosthesis and orthesis'.
