FACULTY OF 1000:Dr Keating joined Faculty of 1000 as a Faculty Member for the Non-hematopoietic Stem Cells Section (in the Hematology Faculty) on August 21st 2009.
On July 15th 2011, following an invitation from Edward Benz and Eliane Gluckman (Heads of the Hematology Faculty), Dr Keating was appointed as a Section Head for the Non-hematopoietic Stem Cells Section.
ACADEMIC POSITION:
Armand Keating is currently Professor of Medicine and Director, Division of Hematology at the University of Toronto. He also holds the Gloria and Seymour Epstein Chair in Cell Therapy and Transplantation and is Head of the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology at Princess Margaret Hospital/Ontario Cancer Institute.
EDUCATION:
Armand Keating obtained his MD at the University of Ottawa Medical School, completed internal medicine and hematology residencies at the University of Toronto and undertook research training at the University of Washington, Seattle.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
1. Basic Studies
Cell biology of bone marrow stromal cells: transplantation and transdifferentiation studies, including myocardial tissue.
Cell-mediated cancer immunotherapy.
2. Clinical Studies
Clinical investigation in bone marrow transplantation, anti-cancer cell therapy, tissue regeneration, leukemia and lymphoma.
