RESEARCH INTERESTS:
The Dalley lab studies the neural and psychological mechanisms of impulsive and compulsive behavioural endophenotypes in animals with a special focus on the medial and orbital frontal cortices and sub-cortical striatal systems. We seek to understand the complexity of individual variation in inhibitory response control using in-vivo electrophysiology and brain imaging (MR/PET) together with genetic, molecular, neurochemical, and pharmacological approaches. Dr Dalley’s group is based in the Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience Institute at Cambridge University, a major research centre dedicated to the discovery of biomarkers and mechanisms underlying different forms of cognitive dysfunction and psychopathology.
