RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Principal academic interest is the study of the effects of anesthetic drugs and changing physiological milieu on uteroplacental blood flow and fetal organ perfusion – both ultrasound studies in humans and laboratory studies in rodents (using BOLD functional MRI and immunohistochemical markers). Other clinical studies relevant to obstetric anesthesia include: experimental pain and clinical pain studies in humans (pharmacokinetic/dynamic studies of spinal cord analgesics) and national studies on the provision of clinical obstetric anesthesia services.
