RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr Deutschman's investigations use molecular and cellular biologic techniques to study the effects of sepsis on organ function. Current projects involve changes in the liver, lung and heart. In addition, he is examining the function of specific circulating cells such as platelets and neutrophils. These investigations involve collaborations with a number of other investigators at the University of Pennsylvania, at other US institutions and throughout the world.
