EDITORIAL POSITIONS:
Currently Editor-in-chief of The Open Critical Care Medicine Journal (http://www.bentham.org/open/toccmj) and section editor for Current Opinion in Critical Care (Neuroscience).
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Research streams include: 'Direct Brain Cooling' studies; Chief Investigator of the EUROTHERM3235 Trial investigating the titrated use of hypothermia after traumatic brain injury in patients with raised intracranial pressure (http://www.eurotherm3235trial.eu); The TOPCAT study, Temperature post out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, assessed patients pre-hospital. The invaluable experience gained from this program will support the development of pre-hospital stroke care studies.
Prof Andrews is the Chief Investigator of the 'SIGNET Trial' (RCT in Scottish Intensive Care Units). This was the first UK non-commercial CT-IMP trial in critical care in the UK.
