F1000Prime and PubMed LinkOut
F1000Prime's PubMed LinkOut is a feature that allows you to link individual PubMed records, retrieved in a search, to their recommendations on F1000Prime.
F1000Prime's Article Recommendations are tagged in PubMed, which, if you choose to display the links, gives you an instant indication of any articles that our highly respected and peer-nominated Faculty have highlighted as particularly important in each field.
To display the links temporarily during any PubMed search session, simply access PubMed via http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?holding=f1000
To display the links permanently, follow these instructions:
LinkOuts for individuals
Once you have registered with PubMed, go to 'My NCBI' (which allows users to save searches and set personal LinkOut preferences) and follow these steps:
- Go to Filters, PubMed
- Click Manage Filters
- Under Browse/Search for PubMed Filters, click LinkOut
- Search for F1000Prime
- Click Filter and Link Icon
LinkOuts for institutions/libraries
Many libraries make use of PubMed's LinkOut system to provide links to their library holdings. A library can set up its holdings file as part of LinkOut and activate links to the full text within the holdings by providing users with a PubMed link. To set up LinkOuts for F1000Prime please follow the instructions on the PubMed site http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK3808/
