Key features of the F1000 evaluation service
- »F1000 evaluations of the key articles identified by the Faculty can be viewed by registered subscribers, active trialists and authors of recently evaluated articles (who are offered complimentary 3-month subscriptions).
- »F1000 Factors immediately indicate the rating of any evaluated article within F1000, based on its own merit as judged by the Faculty and not the journal's impact factor.
- »F1000 Article Rankings are calculated from the F1000 Factors and used to identify the top articles in each Faculty or Section. Journal rankings will be introduced soon, followed by author and institutional rankings.
- »Hidden Jewels lists are found under Rankings, the 'Hidden Jewel' notation highlights important articles published in specialist journals within each Faculty or Section.
- »Dissenting opinions can be posted by Faculty Members if they feel an article should not have been included in F1000 or that a more critical opinion is warranted.
